An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

The Frozen North, the 1922 silent family animated animation cartoon comedy short (based on the Bud Fisher comic strip named "Mutt & Jeff"; "produced by Bud Fisher"). Note that Mutt and Jeff (a pair of loser best friends, one tall and one short) was one of the most poular newspaper cartoon strips ever, beginning in 1908, and they were brought to the movies in 1911, and over the next 15 years, Bud Fisher created an astonishing 347 cartoons starring the duo. Note that Bud Fisher was one of the rare successful creators who was also an excellent business man, and he gained control of the newspaper strip, and when the first cartoons were adapted in 1911, he retained sole ownership of those as well, and his various enterprises made him an extremely wealthy man!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has a great image of Mutt helping Jeff to cheat at poker by looking at Jeff's opponent's cards from a high window and signaling him! There are not many early movie posters that show people gambling at poker, and this is one of the only silent posters I have ever seen with a poker playing image!

Condition: very good to fine. The poster had paper loss at the bottom crossfold and tiny holes a the other two crossfolds. It was folded in half an extra time and there was paper loss in the right of the bottom foldline (in the "NT" of "PRESENTS"). There were tears and creases to the right of this area extending to the right border. Other than the above defects, the poster was in really nice condition prior to linenbacking, especially surprising given that the poster is nearly 85 years old. The poster was quite nicely backed and it looks great!
