An Original Vintage Unfolded World War II Poster (measures 14" x 17" [36 x 43 cm]) (Learn More)

Enlist in the United States Navy, the 1940 U.S. World War II (WWII) era recruitment poster ("The nation's first line of defense"; "Our modern ships need young men of high character and sound physique to fill many vacancies created by our present expansion program in the interest of National Security"; "See the nearest Recruitment Officer") encouraging men to join the Navy. Note that this poster is dated 1940 at the bottom, so it predates the U.S.'s entry into World War II, showing that at least some in the government realized that the U.S. would surely soon enter the war, and were starting recruitment drives! Finally, note that we have seen three very similar posters to this one that were all created in 1940 as well, but each of them has a different title area, so we have listed them under each title ("Enlist in the United States Navy", "Men Wanted", "United States Navy", and "Young Americans").
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. The poster has never been folded and it is in pretty nice condition!
