An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Sporting Youth, the 1924 Harry A. Pollard silent mistaken identity automobile car racing sports comedy ("Byron Morgan's sensational racing romance"; "Universal-Jewel"; about a chauffeur who is deep in debt, but fortunately, he has a double for a famous race car driver, and that causes him to get entered into a major race, and he wins the race and also the hand of the daughter of a wealthy car manufacturer) starring Reginald Denny, Laura La Plante, Hallam Cooley, Frederick Vroom, and Lucille Ward. Note that we have not seen this movie, so we don't know if the championship race referred to is the famous Indianapolis 500, but even if it was in the movie, in real life, the race scenes were filmed at the Exposition Park Raceway in San Luis Obispo. The poster for this movie has one of the best action images of professional car racing of any movie poster! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. We have only previously auctioned a different example of this one-sheet (28 years ago for $550!), and NO other movie paper of any kind, until we received this second one-sheet! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had very minor fold wear. It had paper loss in the left of the top border that extended down into the top half of the "I" and the top left of the "V" of "UNIVERSAL". It had a few pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. A very talented restorer restored the paper loss described above, and the poster displays wonderfully! Learn More about condition grades
