An Original Vintage Unfolded World War I Poster (measures 29 3/4" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Salvation Army Lassie, the 1918 U.S. World War I (WWI) Home Front poster ("Oh, boy! That's the girl!"; "United War Work Campaign"; "Keep her on the job"; "Nov. 11th-19th 1918") encouraging people to support the service organization, and featuring George M. Richards art of a female volunteer handing out doughnuts with a smiling soldier. Artist: George M. Richards Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note that this is one of seventeen wonderful World War I posters we were consigned, which we are auctioning in separate auctions. All of them are extremely fragile and in urgent need of restoration, but all of them CAN be "rescued", and after proper restoration they will display wonderfully (and many of them are incredibly rare). Please read our condition description below and look at our super-sized image before bidding on any of these great posters! Condition: fair. There are many areas of paper loss in the left border, affecting much the upper part of the image, but only background areas. There are surface scuffs in the girl's face. There are light ripples scattered throughout and a few stains. Certainly, a talented restorer can "rescue" this wonderful poster (especially if they can locate an image of the missing border area), but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
