An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 4" x 9.25"; 4 pages) (Learn More)

When Men Hate, the 1913 Sidney Olcott silent family feud romantic marriage melodrama ("An intensely dramatic portrayal of family hatred in three reels"; about two families with a very long term feud, and naturally, the daughter of one falls in love with the son of another) starring Alfred Hollingsworth, Gene Gauntier, and Jack J. Clark. Note that this was one of the earliest movies by the Warner's Feature Film Co., which was started in 1911, but did not make their first movie until 1912. It was owned by several Warner brothers, and, of course, they would go on to become the famous Hollywood studio, Warner Bros., but this is one of their earliest movies. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a really incredible herald! This movie dates from 1913 ("Film Copyright 1913, Warner's Feature Film Co." is printed at the bottom of the front cover), but I cannot find out any further information about the movie. It IS clear, is that it is surely one of the earliest movies that Warner Bros. ever made! It is "in three reels". Given that it says "Warner's Features" at the top in large letters, I wonder if this movie was not produced solely by one of the brothers, and that afterwards he brought in one or more of his other brothers, and then changed the name of the studio to "Warner Bros." (NOT "Warner Brothers", as it is often mistakenly referred to). I think this is an incredible piece of movie history, and hope other people feel the same way, and that this ends up in a museum or institution of some kind. Note that we have one other similar even earlier herald, "Tracked By Wireless", which is from 1912, which we are offering elsewhere on eBay. If anyone has additional information about either of these movies, either of these heralds, or about the early history of Warner's, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
