Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Forty by Sixty Movie Poster (measures 40" x 60") (Learn More)

Walt Disney's Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier, the classic 1955 Norman Foster Walt Disney cowboy western adventure thriller ("...Story of a fabulous fighting man!"; "Now... On the Motion Picture Screen!"; "Color by Technicolor, Wide Screen"; "Adapted from the original 'Disneyland' Television Productions") starring Fess Parker (in the title role as Davy Crockett), Buddy Ebsen, William Bakewell, Basil Ruysdael, Pat Hogan (as Chief Red Stick), Mike Mazurki, and Nick Cravat. Note that this was originally three episodes of the Disneyland TV series (more commonly known as "The Wonderful World of Disney"). A year after the three episodes aired, someone at Disney had the great idea to release the three as a feature film, and it was hugely successful, in spite of the fact that over half of the U.S. had seen the movie for free when it had aired on TV the year before!

Condition: good to very good. there are numerous smudges throughout the image area; fortunately there are more of them around the edges of the poster and relatively few in Parker's figure!; similarly there are creases throughout the poster, but most of them are not very noticeable or distracting and there are next to none in Parker's figure except for one that starts at the top center of his coonskin hat and runs down to the bridge of his nose; there are many small tears, creases, smudges, and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster; The poster is in better condition than the above makes it sound! I would think that most collectors would be happy with this poster displayed just as it is, as its defects truly are not very distracting, and few of them are in Parker's image. But of course, a talented restorer could surely back the poster and greatly minimize its defects (removing or reducing the stains and smudges through chemical means, without painting) and the poster would look great!
