The Godfather, the classic 1972 Francis Ford Coppola (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) gangster organized crime epic ("'The Godfather' is now a movie."; "Based on Mario Puzo's Novel 'The Godfather'"; "Screenplay by Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Marlon Brando (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Don Vito Corleone), Al Pacino (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Michael Corleone), James Caan (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Sonny Corleone), Richard Castellano (as Clemenza), Robert Duvall (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Tom Hagen), Sterling Hayden (as Captain McCluskey), John Marley (as Jack Woltz, the movie producer who wakes up with the horse's head!), Richard Conte (as Barzini), Diane Keaton (as Kay Corleone), Abe Vigoda (as Tessio), Talia Shire (as Connie Corleone), John Cazale (as Fredo Corleone), Alex Rocco (as Moe Greene), Gianni Russo (as Carlo), Al Martino (as Johnny Fontane), Morgana King (as Mama Corleone), Lenny Montana (as Luca Brasi), John Martino (as Paulie), Salvatore Corsitto (as the undertaker Bonasera), Al Lettieri (as Sollozzo), and Simonetta Stefanelli (as Apollonia Vitelli Corleone, Michael's Italian wife). Each poster was neatly trimmed around the edges, then it was mounted to a 30" x 40" backing with a decorative pattern (note that when the NSS warehouses would run out of 30x40s, and they have an order for them, they would take one-sheets and trim 1" off the top or border, and then glue the 27" x 40" trimmed poster to a stock background, and then send that "homemade" 30x40 in place of the regular 30x40).
