An Original 1956 Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Die Gefangene des Maharadscha (released in the U.S. in 1956 as "Circus Girl"), the 1954 Veit Harlan German India romantic circus adventure thriller ("Romance for three on the high trapeze!"; "In Gorgeous Color") starring Kristina Soederbaum (Veit Harlan's wife!), Willy Birgel, Rene Deltgen, Adrian Hoven, and Rolf von Nauckhoff. Note that director Veit Harlan was one of the most infamous of the Nazi film directors, directing Jud Suss and many other virulent anti-Jewish Nazi movies during World War II. After the war, almost ALL of his movies were banned, not just the anti-Jewish ones, and he was put on trial for war crimes. But in 1950, after several trials, he was set free, and in 1951, he resumed making movies, making a dozen of them until his passing in 1964. This movie appears to be a fairly standard romantic melodrama set in India, and yet when it was released in the U.S. in 1956 (two years later), it was re-titled "Circus Girl" (so we don't know if additional footage was shot or if the movie was re-cut, or if the American title was just very misleading.) Important Added Info: Note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Also note this three-sheet poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with three-sheets folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded three-sheets need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 13" x 30", so they cost more to send than regularly folded three-sheets, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses.
