An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Teaser One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Star Wars (now known as "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope"), the classic 1977 George Lucas (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) outer space fantasy action adventure science fiction (sci-fi) epic ("A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."; "George Lucas, the man who brought you American Graffiti now brings you an adventure as big as the cosmos itself: Star Wars, the story of a boy, a girl, and a universe. It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen)

Important Added Info: Note that this poster was issued in two different ways in 1977. One poster was a regular teaser poster, with a black background and grey text and borders. The other looks exactly the same, except the "W" in "Star Wars" has points at the bottom, which is only seen in very early promotional material, and the poster was printed on a foil coated paper with the black printed over the foil! It is INCREDIBLY difficult to photograph foil posters (and other reflective surfaces), so know that the unevenness in the image we provide is in the photograph, and is NOT in the poster itself While both posters are very desired by Star Wars collectors, the foil version is more desirable, and it is very difficult to find in even fairly good condition (because the foil scuffs so easily). This auction is for the FOIL style version.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has several partial horizontal creases in the left and right (see our image). The creases have caused the foil in the bottom of the right border to slightly shift and very slightly separate from the rest of the poster (it was created with foil applied to a regular paper). We would think that a restorer could "flatten" the poster, which might greatly lessen these creases, but we don't know if they could be made invisible, or how noticeable they would be after restoration. They are quite noticeable now, but the poster can still certainly be displayed and enjoyed (bear in mind that our image shows reflection, as described above). Please bear these creases in mind before placing a bid on this rare and desirable poster.
