An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Jumbo Lobby Card (LC; measures 14" x 17" [36 x 43 cm]) (Learn More)

Erich von Stroheim's The Wedding March, the 1928 Erich von Stroheim Vienna Austria romantic marriage melodrama ("The man you love to hate as he appears in The Wedding March"; about an impoverished aristocrat who falls in love with a poor inn-keeper's daughter but he will not marry her because he wants to marry into a wealthy family) starring Erich von Stroheim, Fay Wray, George Fawcett, Maude George, George Nichols, Zasu Pitts, Hughie Mack, Matthew Betz, and Danny Hoy. Note that amazingly, von Stroheim originally planned to have this be a "set" of two films which would be shown on consecutive nights (The Wedding March would be shown on the first night, and then the audiences were expected to return on the second night, to see the second film, a sequel to the first, with the same actors, called "The Honeymoon")! All of the footage for both films was shot but Stroheim's edit of the first film (The Wedding March) was over four hours long, and Paramount had it re-edited by someone else. Then, after The Wedding March received poor reviews and low box office totals, the sequel (The Honeymoon) was only released in Europe and South America, and movie paper from it is beyond rare!

Condition: good. The card was folded 1" from the bottom. It had many creases and small tears around the edges, with some tiny paper loss. All were repaired with clear tape from the back (and someone performed slight amateur touch up around the edges). The card was printed on a linen finish paper and there are many creases around the edges, but a lesser number in the center (see our super-sized image).
