Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Tumbling River, the 1927 Lewis Seiler silent romantic cowboy western ("The Old West In All Its Glory"; "From 'The Scourge of the Little C' by J. Egrinstead"; not only does Tom Mix save his girlfriend from a gang of cattle rustlers who have kidnapped her and from a raging river that they threw her in, but he also has to rescue Tony, who is stolen by the rustlers!) starring Tom Mix, Tony ("The Wonder Horse"), Dorothy Dwan, Wallace MacDonald, William Conklin, and Estella Essex. Note that, as happened with many other major action movies, this movie had a tragedy associated with it. The river rescue scene was filmed on California's Merced River, and a stuntwoman, 22 year-old Ethel Hall, was used in the sequence, and she drowned during the filming. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. the poster was linenbacked; prior to restoration the poster had a couple of pieces of tape in the top blank border that had darkened; the image area was in excellent condition, with tiny paper loss at the crossfolds; the person who restored the poster carefully put new paper over just the top blank border (it was very expertly done and most people would not realize it unless it was specifically shown to them); the image area of the poster was expertly restored; the very minor defects are only noticeable on the closest inspection; from any distance they basically vanish and the poster looks wonderful!
