An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Beyond the Blue Horizon, the 1942 Alfred Santell tropical island romantic jungle adventure melodrama (sort of "Tarzan" in reverse, where a girl is shipwrecked on a tropical island, and her parents are killed, so she grows up alone in an island jungle, and she is rescued, and no one believes her, so she leads an expedition back to the island to prove her story) starring Dorothy Lamour, Richard Denning, Jack Haley, Patricia Morison, Walter Abel, Helen Gilbert, Elizabeth Patterson, and Gogo (the chimpanzee!). Note that Dorothy Lamour wore her trademark sarong in this movie! Also note that there is a scene in the movie where Richard Denning lures a rampaging elephant to the edge of a cliff, and then he swings on a vine, and the elephant follows him, and plunges to its death. Apparently, a lot of children were taken to this movie and were traumatized by that scene! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fine. This poster was paperbacked and during the backing process, its extremely minor defects were repaired and it now looks really great! We only assigned this grade ("fine") to posters that were in really excellent condition prior to paperbacking, AND which were paperbacked by a top professional! The poster had rough creases across the top foldline and down the vertical foldline with a few tiny tears and minute areas of paper loss in those folds. There were pinholes, creases, and smudges around the edges of the poster. There was a diagonal tear in the top right corner that extends into the "U" of "BLUE" in the title. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the person who backed the poster did next-to-no restoration on the above defects (although they are not very distracting). Learn More about condition grades
