An Original Vintage Paperbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh) (Learn More) 3 on a Match, the 1932 Mervyn LeRoy pre-Code family relationship tragic doomed romance romantic melodrama (a wild story of three young women who are best friends, and one of them seems to have it all, with a nice husband and a six year old son, but then she gets involved with a hoodlum, who gets her hooked on drugs, and she abandons her son, and her two best friends take care of the son, while trying to get her rehabilitated) starring Joan Blondell, Ann Dvorak, Warren William, Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart, Virginia Davis, Anne Shirley, Hardie Albright, Lyle Talbot, and Buster Phelps (a 6 year old boy who plays Warren William's son). Note that this is one of those pre-Code movies that led to the creation of the Code. Dvorak is a drug fiend, and there are subtle references to her using cocaine. Bette Davis has a sexy scene where she shows her legs, something we can't recall seeing her do in other movies. The movie was a little too early in Davis' or Joan Blondell's career, or likely they would have played the lead. The same is true for Bogart, who has a pretty minor role as a hoodlum who is not the one that got Dvorak hooked on drugs. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
