Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Mr. Spock), DeForest Kelley (as Dr. "Bones" McCoy), James Doohan (as Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott), George Takei (as Lieutenant Commander Hikaru Sulu), Walter Koenig (as Chekov), Nichelle Nichols (as Lieutenant Commander Uhura), Majel Barrett, Persis Khambatta (billed as "presenting Persis Khambatta"), Stephen Collins ("as Lt. Willard Decker"; "as Decker"), and Grace Lee Whitney. Note that the Star Trek TV show went off the air in 1969, with a cult following, but without a lot of general success. But there was enough interest built up over the following years that this movie was made in 1979. Three years later, Nicholas Meyer wrote and directed a sequel, "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", which was a giant critical and commercial success, and led to all the many sequels and spin-offs in the years since! Artist: Bob Peak Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by SIX people: William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, director Robert Wise, production designer Harold Michelson, Walter Koenig (who signed it upside-down) and there is one other signature that we cannot identify. If anyone knows who it belongs to, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Our consignor obtained these autographs in August 2000 when he visited Dreamworks Studio in Glendale, California, for lunch with Lillian and Harold Michelson. This poster comes from a remarkable collection of 81 one-sheets (and one reproduction), which we are currently auctioning in 82 separate auctions. Our consignor was a college professor for a number of years, who was a close friend of Ray Harryhausen, and who became friendly with many Hollywood directors, actors, and crew members. He had a collection of movie posters in the 1970s, and when he would have a chance to meet an actor, director, or crew member, he would find one-sheets in his collection from movies that person had worked on, and he would bring it to their meeting, and ask the person to sign (and on several occasions, he was able to get more than one signature on a single poster), and some of the people who signed wrote an inscription, sometimes personalized to our consignor. He has passed away, and he did not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are 100% certain all the signatures on his 81 one-sheets are authentic, because they were acquired in person by our consignor. This is a rare opportunity to obtain vintage one-sheets with authentic signatures! UPDATED 06/03/2020: Note that a knowledgeable collector identified three of the unknown signatures as belonging to William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy & Walter Koenig. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
