An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the classic 1971 Mel Stuart candy factory juvenile musical family fantasy comedy ("It's Scrumdidilyumptious!"; "It's everybody's non-pollutionary, anti-institutionary, pro-confectionery factory of fun!"; "Charlie is let loose in the chocolate factory and every kid's dream comes true."; "Meet Charlie at the Chocolate Factory, with his scrumdidilyumptious friends Willy Wonka, Mike Teevee, Augustus Gloop, Veruca Salt, Violet Beauregarde, Grandpa Joe, and a lot of delicious Oompa-Loompas."; "Screenplay by Roald Dahl, Based on his book 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'"; "Your golden ticket to imagination and adventure!"; about a poor boy that gets a chance to visit a whimsical chocolate factory by finding a golden ticket in a candy bar) starring Gene Wilder (in the title role as Willy Wonka), Jack Albertson, Peter Ostrum (billed as "introducing Peter Ostrum as 'Charlie'"), Roy Kinnear, Denise Nickerson (as Violet Beauregarde), Leonard Stone, Julie Dawn Cole (as Veruca Salt), Paris Themmen (as Mike Teevee), and Dodo Denney NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. This poster was linenbacked, but it was either NOT linenbacked by a very talented restorer, or it was linenbacked many years ago, and has received rough handling over the years. You can see signs of the restoration even from a distance. This is a poster that would greatly benefit from additional professional restoration. See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good. There were small holes at the top and bottom crossfolds. There are two vertical scratches along the edges of Wilder's coat in the central image (it almost looks intentional). There is fine separation across the middle foldline and down the center of the vertical foldline. There is an extra crease just above the bottom foldline with fine surface paper loss across the center of both foldlines. There were pinholes in the corners. It appears the person who backed this poster did not do any restoration. A talented restorer could touch up the defects without re-backing the poster! Learn More about condition grades
