An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Doll Face, the 1945 Lewis Seiler theater stage acting romantic love triangle musical (based on the play 'The Naked Genius' by Gypsy Rose Lee; billed here as "From a Play by Louise Hovick"; about a burlesque star who wants to perform on the legitimate stage, and her manager boyfriend hires a writer to create a credible biography for her that will let her be accepted by society folk) starring Vivian Blaine (in the title role as Doll Face), Dennis O'Keefe, Perry Como, Carmen Miranda, Martha Stewart, Stephen Dunne (billed as "Michael Dunne"), and Reed Hadley. Note that the movie is pretty faithful to Gypsy Rose Lee's source play, but some aspects of it had to be toned down to be acceptable to the censors in 1945 America! The poster had tears and paper loss in and around the top crossfold, with an added tear going through Blaine's mouth and part of her cheek. It had some creases, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss along the folds, and pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
