Artist: Joseph Caroff
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this English double crown, which is a "country of origin" poster for this English movie! We have seen one example of this poster auctioned at another auction house, but that poster has strange coloration (or perhaps the image was digitally altered), but that poster reportedly auctioned for $10,157.50! We previously auctioned another style of double crown from this movie, which has an image of Connery and has this logo in the top right. That logo on the other poster was printed with "dayglo" ink, and this poster has the entire logo in dayglo. It doesn't reproduce well (this is something about dayglo inks), and it really looks much more impressive in person, but we have no way to convey that to you short of you coming to West Plains to see it (or short of you being the high bidder!). Joseph Caroff is the artist who created this iconic logo. It was used on the earliest James Bond books and on these double crowns, but the U.S. movie posters had a different logo where the barrel of the gun extends from the top of the 7, and that later logo was designed by David Chasman of United Artists. Also note that this is a teaser English double crown (note the complete lack of credits on the poster). Finally, note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has creases across the middle fold, with some smudges and scuffs along the rest of the folds and pinholes in the corners, with tiny paper loss in the bottom left corner and a small stain in the left of the top border. As noted above, the dayglo logo looks far more impressive in person than it does in our digital image. One could certainly display this wonderful poster exactly as it is, or one might choose to have restoration performed, but either way, the new owner will have a rare and wonderful poster to display on their wall.
