Important Added Info: Note that this special poster was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap, similar to a three-sheet or six-sheet. This poster has never been seen before, so it is unclear exactly for what purpose it was created. But a year ago, we auctioned a very similar special poster that measured 83" x 91" (obviously extremely close to this poster), and that poster was also in two pieces. The main difference between the two posters was that that poster had a large tagline in the left and also "Opens June 20 Everywhere" in the lower left, with the shark image solely in the lower right. Putting the information about these two posters together, it seems extremely likely that the poster we auctioned last year was a domestic "mini billboard" (sometimes called a "7-sheet" [seven sheet], because it is slightly larger than a 6-sheet), and that this poster was an international "mini billboard". This is further reinforced by the fact that the poster last year was discovered in California (apparently the man who owned that had a connection to the studio), and this poster was found in Australia (where some of the shark footage from the film was shot). It also makes perfect sense that they would be able to put the date on the U.S. poster, because they knew when it would open in the U.S., but they could not put a date on the international poster, because it would be used in several different countries that would have different opening dates. The domestic poster we auctioned last year sold for $11,000 (it is the only example of that poster that has ever been auctioned). The poster this year has a perfectly centered shark image, so some might consider it more visually appealing (it depends on how you feel about the text on the poster), and of course, the condition of this international one is not as good as the condition of the domestic one, which was in "very good" condition.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was printed in two sections (designed to overlap). There are small tears and tiny areas of paper loss and surface paper loss scattered on most of the foldlines and in the borders, with tiny pinholes. There is some slight darkening on the foldlines and the paper is slightly fragile. But, as you can see from our image, the poster is basically "all there", and certainly, these defects can be easily corrected during a standard linenbacking, and after that is done, this poster will look incredible!
