An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Another New Popeye Comedy, a 1934 stock poster created for theaters showing Popeye cartoons in the middle 1930s. Theaters would order one of these posters and then display it when they showed a Popeye cartoon along with their features. I have never heard of anyone who actually saw a cartoon poster displayed outside a theater, which may mean that few theaters ordered them, and may account for their extreme rarity today!
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that throughout the 1930s Paramount issued a series of stock posters for their extremely popular Popeye cartoons. The poster offered here is the earliest of those stock posters, and has one of the best images!

Condition: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top crossfold and tiny paper loss at the other two crossfolds. There was small paper loss at the right end of the top foldline (mostly blank white paper, but touching the "Y" of "COMEDY"). There were a few other tiny areas of paper loss along the borders and around the edges of the poster, but overall, the poster was in quite nice condition (especially considering its age). It was very well linenbacked, and it looks great!
