Akahige (released in the U.S. as "Red Beard"), the classic 1965 Akira Kurosawa Japanese hospital doctor medical melodrama (about a clinic in Japan that is run by a crusty old doctor called "Red Beard", and a young intern comes to work there and clashes with the older man) starring Toshiro Mifune (in the title role as "Akahige"), Yuzo Kayama, Yoshio Tsuchiya, Tatsuyoshi Ehara, and Tsutomu Yamazaki

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this first release Japanese advance poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Japanese movie! It has a 1964 copyright and it was consigned to us from Japan, and the consignor called it an "advance" poster, and we imagine that is because it is from 1964, and not 1965, when the movie was first released.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfold and some and some creases and scuffs on both folds, with some minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
