An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked French Movie Poster (measures 43 1/4" x 58 1/2" [110 x 149 cm]) (Learn More)

Le Billet de Banque (literally translates to "The Bank Note" and also released as "Le Billet de 1.000 Fr"), the 1907 Louis Feuillade & Alice Guy-Blache (Alice Guy) French silent robbery melodrama (about a poor man who saves a rich couple from being robbed, and they give him a 1000 franc bank note as a reward, but because of his appearance and the large sum, no one will serve him!). Note that IMDB says that Louis Feuillade directed this short, while many other sources say Alice Guy directed it. After consulting with a French expert, it appears that both had a hand in directing the short. Note that Alice Guy-Blache was the first woman to direct a film, and Louis Feuillade is best known for his serials Fantomas, Les Vampires and Judex.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster uses the alternate title of "Le Billet de 1.000 Fr". Also, note that generally French posters from before World War II are incredibly scarce, but even more scarce are French posters from the silent period! This is one of the few silent French posters we have ever auctioned, and it is an odd size, because filmmakers in France at that time had not yet settled on a standard size for movie posters. Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie!

UPDATED 12/22/2020: Note that we have added more information to the Description.
