An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Frank Buck's Jungle Cavalcade, the 1941 William C. Ament, Clyde Elliot, & Armand Denis African jungle safari documentary ("All the mightiest thrills of his career packed into one gigantic show!...."; "From 'Bring 'em Back Alive', 'Wild Cargo' and 'Fang and Claw'"; a compilation of highlights from Frank Buck's biggest hits: written by Philip H. Reisman Jr.; "Sequences from "Bring'Em Back Alive" directed by Clyde Elliot"; "Sequences from "Wild Cargo" directed by Armad Denis") featuring narration by famed jungle explorer, Frank Buck. Note that Armand Denis had explored Africa and India in the 1930s with his wife Leila Roosevelt, and had produced and directed many short subjects with footage of their travels that he and his wife had shot themselves. In 1948, the 52 year-old Armand Denis divorced Roosevelt, and married 34 year-old Michaela Holdsworth, and together they made four movies (very similar to those he had made with his first wife).

Important Added Info: In 1941, the RKO Golden Gate Theater in San Francisco, California went all out the week they were showing this movie! This still shows the incredible front of that theater, which was also showing a "March of Time" short, "Peace by Hitler", and they have incredible banners showing wild animals (likely locally created), plus they have a huge life-sized gorilla and a zebra mounted on platforms in front of the ticket window (they could even be real mounted animals!). This was at a time when theaters went all out publicizing every new movie. This display would have lasted for likely just one week, at which time it would have been taken down, and the next week's display put up in its place! Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm].

Condition: very good. There are some creases scattered through the still.
