An Original Vintage Unfolded Special Movie Fan Club Poster (measures 20" x 28") (Learn More) Star Wars (now known as "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope"), the classic 1977 George Lucas (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) outer space fantasy action adventure science fiction (sci-fi) epic ("A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."; "George Lucas, the man who brought you American Graffiti now brings you an adventure as big as the cosmos itself: Star Wars, the story of a boy, a girl, and a universe. It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Ralph McQuarrie Important Added Info: Note that this poster was produced and given out to people who joined the "Official Star Wars Fan Club" in 1978 (I believe it was given out for some time after that, but I don't know exactly when they stopped). The poster was painted by Ralph McQuarrie, the artist who did all the design work for the first three Star Wars movies, and the poster was designed by Craig Miller, who personally consigned this poster directly to us (Craig is a well-known poster collector, who worked for George Lucas starting in 1976 and for the three years following!). When buying posters like this, one always worries about the possibility that the poster you are buying might not be authentic, but this poster surely has the best possible provenance, coming directly from a Lucas employee, who is active in the poster hobby! Also note that this special poster measures 20" x 28" and that this poster was never machine folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing, but a very few were left unfolded. An unfolded poster from before 1980 is almost always far more difficult to find than a folded poster of the same title, and finding unfolded posters in excellent condition is even more difficult! Note that this poster has some light creases throughout, but they are really not very noticeable or distracting. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
