An Original Autographed Letter (measures 4" x 5") (Learn More)

Janet Leigh was an actress from the 1940s to the 2000s. She was married to Tony Curtis and is the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis. She is best remembered for her shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film). Some of her other movies include: Holiday Affair, Touch of Evil, The Manchurian Candidate, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Fog. She passed away in 2004 at the age of 77.
Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Janet Leigh! Our consignor purchased this letter and still many years ago in a large archive of Janet Leigh material. The letter is REALLY wonderful, because Janet Leigh wrote it to Robert Mitchum as they concluded filming Holiday Affair! Miss Leigh addressed the letter to "Mr. Robert Mitchum, Dressing Room 'G'", and it was written on her personal stationery. It reads as follows:

"Dear Mitch, Because I'm usually tongue-tied or an idiot when I go to say something that means anything to me I thought I'd better write this, so I wouldn't botch it up. I wanted you to know how glad I was to be in your picture, and how much fun and experience I got by working with you. You're not only a good actor, but a very nice guy - Thanks! 'Her Daddy's Girl', Janet".

Of course, the letter could be framed with the great candid Ernest Bachrach still (likely a key book, given the punch holes) which shows Leigh and Mitchum walking together and talking at the studio.

Condition: very good to fine. The letter, the envelope, and the still are all in nice condition!
