Frankenstein is a classic novel written by English author Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley that tells the story of Dr. Victor Frankenstein, a young scientist who creates a dangerous creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. The novel has influenced popular culture for at least 100 years, and has inspired numerous films, television programs, video games, advertising posters, and derivative works. The monster has been portrayed by actors Boris Karloff, Glenn Strange, Lon Chaney Jr., Christopher Lee, Robert De Niro, and many others
Important Added Info: Note that this book was published simultaneously by Gibbings & Company in London and J.P. Lippincott in Philadelphia in 1897. This particular copy was published by J. Miller and Sons, Printers, Edinburgh, as seen on the page facing the introduction. Someone wrote "1st illustrated edition" on the first interior blank page, and there is a bookplate on the inside front cover indicating the book was from the library of William Arnold Churchill. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads.

Condition: good. There is no dust jacket. The spine is detached from the cover on the right side, and there is loss at the top and bottom of the spine, but solely in the blank area. There is wear around the edges of the binding. See our images to get a good sense of the condition of this book.
