An Original Variant Edition Art Print Folio (contains 10 prints that measure 18" x 24" [46 x 61 cm] [one is hand-signed by the artist], a certificate of authenticity; #38/70; see below) (Learn More) Tom Whalen's Universal Monsters, the 2013 limited edition art print folio that contained ten 18" x 24" individually numbered prints (8 individual prints + one very special 2-print diptych) prints by Tom Whalen, each individually screen printed, with all pieces encased in a Tom Whalen designed box. On each set, all of the prints were numbered except for the Frankenstein "teaser" print which was the only one signed by Tom Whalen. There were two editions of this set, the Standard Edition (with full-color prints) and the Variant Edition (which featured black and silver versions of the prints from the Standard Edition, printed with metallic inks). The Standard Edition was originally sold for $350 while the Variant Edition was $450, and both editions quickly sold out! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Tom Whalen Important Added Info: Note that this auction is for the Variant Edition of this portfolio (see above), with ten prints (eight single prints, and one double "diptych" two-part print, for ten prints in all), in a specially created box, and the entire box will be sent in the original padded mailing carton that was created for this set. In 2013, eMoviePoster.com helped Dark Hall Mansion distribute these sets, and they sold out (see above), and now one of the people who purchased this variant set from us seven years ago for $450 has consigned it to us to be auctioned, and it is only the third time in those seven years we were reconsigned a variant set! Also note also that one these posters was personally autographed (signed) by Tom Whalen (the Frankenstein "teaser" art poster)! Note: We have 12 images of the art prints in this set, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 12 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2. Condition: fine. The prints and the box are in very nice condition! Not only that, but they are contained in a specially constructed mailing carton that was made just for this box set (see our image of that mailing carton), and they will be mailed to the high bidder in that mailing carton.
