An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 4 1/2" x 6 1/4" when folded; 4 pages) (Learn More) Never the Twain Shall Meet, the 1925 Maurice Tourneur silent South Seas Tahiti romantic love triangle melodrama ("Peter B. Kyne's famous story of California and the South Seas"; about the daughter of a sea captain and the queen of a South Seas island, and she goes to San Francisco with her father who dies of leprosy, and her father's friend falls in love with her and he splits from his fiancee and marries the Polynesian girl and goes to the island with her, but he falls into despair, and his fiancee comes to visit, and he returns to San Francisco with her) starring Anita Stewart, Bert Lytell, Huntley Gordon, Justine Johnstone, and George Siegmann. Note that this movie was remade in 1931 with Leslie Howard in the lead role, and in both 1925 and 1931, it was quite scandalous for an American to have a romance with a Polynesian woman, and that attitude continued through to the days of "South Pacific" (and in both stories, the "interracial" romance ends tragically!). Also note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note this herald was folded in half at one time as was originally intended. Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
