An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78" [140 x 198 cm]) (Learn More)

Il Conformista (released in the U.S. in 1971 as "The Conformist"), the 1970 Bernardo Bertolucci French/Italian political crime thriller ("From the novel by Alberto Moravia"; about a weak-willed Italian man who becomes a dupe of the fascists and who goes abroad to arrange the assassination of his old teacher) starring Jean-Louis Trintignant, Stefania Sandrelli, Gastone Moschin, Enzo Tarascio, Dominique Sanda, and Pierre Clementi

Artist: Piero Ermanno Iaia
Important Added Info: Note that this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this partially Italian movie, is VERY unusual! All the other Italian posters we have seen from this movie have Paramount Pictures on them, but this poster does not, and it has a completely different image from that seen on any of the other Italian posters. Yet it seems to surely be from the first release of the movie (based on the printer and small writing at the bottom). So what to make of it? We wonder if it might not be from the very first release of the movie prior to Paramount getting involved with its distribution, possibly for a film festival release, but that is just a guess. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: very good. There is slight darkening and a few tiny tears on parts of some folds.
