A Linenbacked French Music Poster (measures 31 1/4" x 42" [79 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) Audition d'oeuvres de Guillaume Lekeu (literally translates to "Audition of Works by Guillaume Lekeu"), the 1894 French poster promoting a musical event featuring the works of composer Guillaume Lekeu which was held in Paris, France on April 29th. Jean Joseph Nicolas Guillaume Lekeu was a Belgian composer who was born in 1870 and died at age 24 in 1894. Note the this poster features artwork of a woman by Carlos Schwabe Artist: Carlos Schwabe Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had darkening in the top blank border and it had paper loss in the center of the top blank border, with some tiny paper loss and tiny tears on parts of the folds. It had some light staining in the right of the top blank border above the image and dates. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking.
