7z0551 LOT OF 6 MAD MAGAZINES 1971-1976 filled with great comedy images & articles!

Date Sold 3/18/2021

a lot of 6 issues of Mad, the classic humor magazine from the 1950s to the present. It was originally a comic book published by Bill Gaines, and it was one of the famous EC Comics (E.C. Comics) that were banned in the mid-1950s, due to excessive horror content. It was created by cartoonist Harvey Kurtzman, and publisher Gaines turned it into a magazine with its 24th issue, and he and Kurtzman soon had a falling out, and Al Feldstein, who had been Gaines' writing partner on the Mad comic books, took over, and the magazine became one of the great success stories of the 1950s and 1960s (led by its trademark character, Alfred E. Neuman, a goofy looking guy whose slogan was "What, me worry?"), with a circulation in the millions at its peak. He never allowed any advertising of any kind in the magazine! In recent years, there was a "Mad" TV show which perfectly captures the spirit of the magazine! Note that the items in this lot are from 1971 to 1976. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them.

Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of each magazine, but no other images. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided.
Measurements: 8" x 11"

Condition: fair to good. Please note that we briefly attempted to check to see if the magazines are complete and uncut, and we believe that they are. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazines. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images of the covers. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images.
