An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

The Light, the 1919 J. Gordon Edwards silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("In Which the Magdalene Learns that Only the good may Serve"; "A Theda Bara Super Production"; "Story by Arthur Reed and Bret Page"; when they say "They don't write 'em like this anymore", they mean ones like this!; about a Frenchwoman who lives with her rich lover in Paris during World War I; a sculptor tells her she has a noble soul and wants to sculpt her, and she refuses, but she wonders if he isn't right, and she tries to become a nurse; she is rejected, and she goes to an Apache club where she picks up the worst of the Apaches; she meets the sculptor who was blinded in the war, and she takes him to a cottage where she nurses him, and he sculpts her by feeling her features; the Apache finds them and threatens to kill the sculptor, and she kills the Apache, after which her rich lover shows up, and takes the blame for the killing so that she can live happily with the blind sculptor) starring Theda Bara, Eugene Ormonde, Robert Walker, Georges Renavent, and Florence Martin. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Note that the Robert Walker credited above was NOT the Robert Walker who starred in the 1940s and 1950s, but a different Robert Walker who started making movies in 1913, and he appeared in an amazing 255 movies through 1953, a 40 year span, but most of those were westerns, and a lot of them were very minor roles, often uncredited.
