An Original Vintage Unfolded Stage Play Poster (measures 41" x 105 3/4" [104 x 269 cm]) (Learn More)

Quincy Adams Sawyer, the 1902 Broadway stage play production ("The best New England play ever written"; of the play written by Justin Adams and Charles Felton Pidgin) starring Charles Dickson (in the title role as Quincy Adams Sawyer), Burton Adams, Harry E. Dudley, Corliss Giles, and Gerorge Averill. Note that this was a hit play that was based on a 1900 novel by Justin Adams, and it was first made into a movie in 1912, but that version is completely forgotten. However, it was remade again in 1922, and this time the "heavy" was played by Lon Chaney Sr., but sadly, that is a "lost" film, so we can't see it. If anyone knows more about the plot of this play, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster, which shows one of the characters from the play, "Mandy Skinner", which is the name of the character and not the actress (and note that the poster is stamped "QUINCY SAWYER 4SHT MANDY" on the back, so apparently this size was called as "4-sheet" in 1902)! Also note that this poster was printed in 5 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: good. There is a number of small tears and some tiny paper loss on parts of the folds and borders, and there are some small tape repairs on the back.
