An Adventure in Hearts, the 1919 James Cruze silent romantic spy espionage adventure thriller ("A dashing American adventurer - a lady in distress -- battles to be fought and hearts to be won!........... and there's excitement in every minute of it!"; "Adapted from 'Captain Dieppe' by Anthony Hope"; "Scenario by Elmer Harris"; produced by Jesse L. Lasky) starring Robert Warwick (as Captain Dieppe), Juan de la Cruz, Winifred Greenwood, Helene Chadwick, and Walter Long. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this title card!

Note that in the days immediately following World War I, there were a huge amount of returning veterans who could not find jobs, and labor was cheap and plentiful. This likely explains why the studios began hand-coloring lobby cards, and they also would sometimes have glitter applied to the letters of the title card! This was incredibly time consuming, because it was done to every single card one by one (in the case of the glitter, the person would apply glue to the letters, then shake glitter over the card, and let it dry, just as we all did in kindergarten!). As economic conditions improved in the country, and as printing technology also improved, these methods of decorating cards vanished! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: very good. The theater that used this card put glitter over the title, which was intentional and not a defect (see above). Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
