An Original Vintage Paperbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh) (Learn More)

Madame X, the 1929 Lionel Barrymore (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) romantic tearjerker crime melodrama ("A Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer ALL TALKING PICTURE"; "From the play by Alexandre Bisson"; about a woman who is abandoned by her husband who keeps their young son with him; she hits rock bottom, and 20 years later, she returns to her son's life and kills a man who is threatening him, and the son, now a lawyer, does not know why she killed the man, and he defends her in court, not realizing she is his own mother!) starring Ruth Chatterton (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Lewis Stone, Raymond Hackett, Holmes Herbert, and Eugenie Besserer. Note that this classic tearjerker is one of the most frequently remade movies ever! It was first in a feature film in 1916 (as "Madam X"), and was then remade in 1920, 1929, 1937, 1939, 1948, 1954, and 1966, and there was even a TV movie version in 1981! Also note that famous actor Lionel Barrymore directed six movies between 1913 and 1917, but then solely acted until 1929, when he directed another nine movies between then and 1931.
