An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More)

The Wasp Woman, the classic 1959 Roger Corman giant bug insect science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("A beautiful woman by day - a lusting queen wasp by night!"; "See: Strong men forced to satisfy a passion no human knows!"; "See: A beautiful woman by day - a lusting queen wasp by night!"; "Written by Leo Gordon") starring Susan Cabot (in the title role as the wasp woman), Fred Eisley, Barboura Morris, William Roerick, and Michael Mark. Note that this movie was guilty of one of the most blatant cases of "false advertising" in an industry filled with unfulfilled promises! The posters and the title card for this movie shows a giant wasp with a woman's head, while the movie delivers a normal-sized woman with a really fake looking wasp head! Also, note that Susan Cabot had a very interesting life, as you can see by clicking on her biography link above.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most insert posters were folded twice horizontally right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded copy of most inserts, especially from before 1970!

Condition: very good. The poster was never machine folded. It was lightly folded across the middle at one time, but was later tri-folded (meaning there is a fold 1/3 down from the top and 1/3 down from the bottom), and was likely stored tri-folded for some time. During that time, the middle fold became pretty invisible. There are rough creases across the top tri-fold (which runs just above the Wasp Woman's body and legs and is in the bottom of her wings). There are two extra folds 1" above and 1" below the bottom tri-fold and there are rough creases along those three folds. The top border was folded back 1" from the top of the poster and there are creases along that fold. There is a pinhole in the top right image background under the "I" of "NIGHT". There is a faint scuff line that runs from the left side of the Wasp Woman's face (in her cheek), and runs left through her ear and through the first portion of her legs. There are a few creases and smudges around the edges of the poster. THE POSTER IS IN MUCH BETTER CONDITION THAN THE ABOVE MAKES IT SOUND! The poster has never been restored in any way, and does not have the slightest bit of tape on the front or back. NONE of the defects described above are particularly noticeable or distracting from any distance away. When viewed from a normal distance of a couple feet away, all you see is the wonderful image (although, of course, any talented restorer could paperback this poster and greatly reduce the folds and creases, and do tiny touch up to the above defects, and the poster would look even better!).

IN THIS SPECIAL HALLOWEEN AUCTION, we have given a more detailed overall condition grade along with more details about the condition described in words. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, plus there are some defects (like separation on folds, tape on the back, extremely tiny pinholes, etc) which can be VERY difficult to see, even in our largest "super-sized" image. Therefore we strongly recommend that you BOTH read our written description of the item, AND ALSO look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
