An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Australian Daybill (Learn More)

Champagne, the 1928 Alfred Hitchcock English silent idle rich romantic comedy (about a spoiled rich girl whose father has made a fortune in the champagne business, and who decides to humble her by pretending the business has failed) starring Betty Balfour, Jean Bradin, Gordon Harker, Marcel Vibert, Jack Tevor, Ferdinand von Alten, and Alexander D'Arcy. Note that this movie was made so early in Alfred Hitchcock's career that he was not credited on the French posters. Also note that Hitchcock's name is completely connected to thrillers and suspense, and most people do not realize that he EVER made any other types of movies. But early in his career, he experimented in several different genres and types of movies, including this romantic comedy, and it would not be for several more years before he would settle on making suspenseful thrillers, and he stuck to those movies for the remainder of his decades-long career.
