An Original 1968 Vintage Theatrical Movie Paper Banner (measures 24" x 82") (Learn More) Il Buono, il Brutto, il Cattivo (released in the U.S. in 1968 as "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"), the classic 1966 Sergio Leone German/Italian/Spanish Civil War cowboy spaghetti western ("For Three Men The Civil War Wasn't Hell. It Was Practice!"; "Screenplay by Age-Scarpelli, Luciano Vincenzoni and Sergio Leone") starring Clint Eastwood (in the title role as The Good), Lee Van Cleef (in the title role as The Bad), Eli Wallach (in the title role as The Ugly; billed as "also starring Eli Wallach in the role of Tuco"), Aldo Giuffre, Mario Brega, Antonio Casas, Rada Rassimov, Aldo Sambrel, Enzo Petito, Luigi Pistilli, Livio Lorenzon, Al Mulloch, Sergio Mendizabal, Molino Rojo, and Lorenzo Robledo NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned this paper banned once before, and the buyer of that banner has now re-consigned it to us, so this is still the only example of this banner we have ever auctioned! Condition: good to very good. The banner was never folded. It has three tears and many creases and scuffs in the left border, and some creases extending into the left edge of the background area. There is a 2" tear in the left of the top border and a tiny tear 8" to the right of that. There is paper loss in the upper part of the right blank border, and a 2" tear at the bottom of that. There is a Canadian censor snipe glued to the left of the black background. There are many scuffs and smudges scattered throughout the banner (typical of paper banners of this period). Someone put small pieces of tape on the back of the border tears, but otherwise, no restoration was performed. I would think many collectors could display this cool and extremely rare poster just as it is, or certainly, a restorer could repair the defects and make it look wonderful!
