An Advertising Poster (measures 11" x 21" [28 x 53 cm]) (Learn More)

Forest Lawn, the circa 1930s advertising poster ("Undertaking within a cemetery - comforting sacred seclusion"; "Announcing a complete undertaking establishment in the quiet, sacred grounds of Forest Lawn"; "Forest Lawn Memorial Park Association Inc., Glendale, California") promoting Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Note that the cemetery added a mortuary at some point, which was on the grounds of the cemetery, but we are unable to determine exactly when that occurred. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we are far from knowledgeable about cemeteries and undertakers, but for some reason, it was a very strong selling point for the famous Forest Lawn cemetery, that they actually did the undertaking WITHIN the cemetery itself! Perhaps this was to reassure their customers that the bodies of their loved ones never left their grounds. We were consigned this really cool 11" x 21" advertising poster (and also a second one that we are auctioning in a separate auction). They have different images, but express similar sentiments. We are guessing they are from the 1930s. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good.
