A Group Of 4 Studio-Issued Photographic Transparencies (measure 4" x 5" [10 x 13 cm]) (Learn More) Frank Sinatra (born Francis Albert Sinatra) was a legendary singer of the 1940s, who became a major movie star that same decade, and continued singing and acting for many years. Some of his movies include: many MGM musicals (some with Gene Kelly), as well as dramatic roles like The Man With The Golden Arm (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), The Manchurian Candidate, and From Here To Eternity (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film). He, along with his best friends, were known as The Rat Pack, and he was the inspiration for the "Johnny Fontaine" character in the Godfather movies! Sinatra passed away in 1998 at the age of 82. Important Added Info: Note that these are "studio-issued" transparencies. What are they? They were produced by the studio but are not the camera originals. They are very high quality and were created in quantity by the studios and sent to media outlets or other places that had need of the very highest quality image for reproduction purposes (in newspapers, magazines, or elsewhere). Three of the transparencies are in plastic sleeves (but we removed them and scanned them, so that bidders could see just how high quality they are). They will be sent to the winner of the auction in their plastic sleeves, and of course, a fourth plastic sleeve could easily be acquired. Condition: good. The colors of the transparencies have "shifted" from how they originally were, but otherwise, they are in nice condition. The images can be "color corrected" to look as they originally were.
