First National 1934-35, the 1934 Spanish campaign book created by Warner Bros/First National, and featuring information about stars, and movies planned for 1934 and 1935. We don't know if this book is the same as the U.S. Warner Bros. campaign book from 1934-35, because we have never seen such a U.S. version. In fact, Warner Bros, alone among major studios, seemed to not believe in campaign books in the 1930s! They made one in 1931-32, and then after that, the first regular U.S. campaign book from Warner Bros. we have auctioned is from 1950-51. They likely did elaborate trade ads in exhibitor magazines between 1932 and 1950, but we have not been consigned any regular U.S. campaign books from those years. Since they made this Spanish campaign book in 1934-35, one would also think they made a U.S. one, but we just don't know. This Spanish campaign book has two-color full-page ads for upcoming Warner Bros./First National movies starring James Cagney, Paul Muni, Kay Francis, Barbara Stanwyck, Mary Astor, and many more (see our images). Unfortunately, the front and back covers are missing (and we don't know what they look like because we have never seen another example of this).
