An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Wall Street, the 1929 Roy William Neill (billed as "R. William Neill") romantic financial melodrama ("All talking drama!"; about a former steel worker who becomes a ruthless Wall Street tycoon, and he bankrupts a rival, causing him to commit suicide, and he goes after the rival's widow, who has a small son, and she encourages him to get revenge, but when he is ruined, she realizes she has come to care for him) starring Ralph Ince, Aileen Pringle, Philip Strange, Freddie Burke Frederick, Sam De Grasse, and Louise Beavers. Note that the 1929 stock market crash occurred in late October 1929. This movie was released on December 1, 1929. One would think that it had been in production for over a month, but we don't know, and it would be interesting to know if this movie incorporated the actual stock market crash into its plot. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: F. Spicker Important Added Info: Note that first release 1929 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single poster or lobby card from this movie until we received this poster! Note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: fair. The card has uneven discoloration and some stains scattered throughout, and it has also darkened. The top 5" was cut and completely separated (with a vertical cut near the center of that area), as was the bottom right corner. There are also two long tears in the left of the bottom border, with some tears near there that have separated the bottom left corner. Someone put much clear tape over the entire back of the card, but otherwise did no restoration. Obviously, this card is in need of significant restoration, but it is also the kind that responds well to expert professional restoration. It may be that the discoloration can partially be removed chemically, and the tears and cuts have virtually no paper loss, so after proper restoration, this card should look great. However, bear in mind its considerable defects and the cost of restoration before bidding. Learn More about condition grades
