If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was hand censored! This poster showed more cleavage than almost any other poster of the 1950s, and very often it is found with that area of the poster covered over with censor paint! While this is certainly a clear defect, it is also an amazing tribute to the straight laced conventions of the time. Imagine how much time it took for people to hand paint "extra clothing" on this woman, one by one. Surely they could have protected the world in some better way! What IS linenbacking? Like many examples of this poster, it was covered with censor paint in the center over the girl's chest (see above). Otherwise, the poster had tiny bits of paper loss and tiny tears on small parts of some folds, with a few longer tears and some creases and scuffs scattered in the image. The poster was well backed, but the restorer did not address the censor paint. Note that we don't know how difficult it would be to remove the censor paint, or whether it can be removed or only painted over. Some would consider this a major detraction, and some might view it as a kind of cool addition to the poster, depending on your point of view! But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the poster as it is or are willing to pay to have further restoration performed. Learn More about condition grades
