An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Autographed Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Attack of the Crab Monsters, the 1957 Roger Corman science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy horror thriller ("From the depths of the sea... A Tidal Wave of Terror!") starring Richard Garland, Pamela Duncan, Russell Johnson, Leslie Bradley, and Mel Welles. Note that while this is certainly far from a classic movie, its posters have some of the very best imagery of ANY of the 1950s horror/sci-fi movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Russell Johnson (who, of course, later gained fame as "The Professor" on TV's "Gilligan's Island")! This half-sheet (and 33 signed items, which we are auctioning in our Tuesday auctions that end five days before these) was consigned to us from the estate of a very longtime lobby card collector, who, for many years, sought out stars at shows and conventions, and he would bring cards from his collection to have them sign. Because they were obtained in person, he does not have any "certificates of authenticity", but we think it is certain that all of the autographs on these cards are authentic, but bear in mind that it does not come with a certificate. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good to very good. The poster has a few slightly diagonal scuffs in the art at left (through the woman's chest - see our image). There is light fold and border wear and a tiny amount of separation at the ends of the folds and those are backed with conservation tape. The poster is singed in pen at lower right in the blank border, and the area surrounding that signature is slightly darkened. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition!
