An Original Vintage Linenbacked Stage Play Poster (measures 20" x 30" [51 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Hoyt's A Midnight Bell, the 1889 Charles H. Hoyt Broadway stage play production ("Laughter Every Minute") starring Eugene Canfield, Maude Adams, Thomas Q. Seabrooke, Adams, Percy Gaunt, and William Bennett. Note that the plot of this play involved several small town romances and a man taking the blame for a crime he did not commit (the real villain was discovered at the end) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a long diagonal crease running through the upper center of the artwork and into the border at lower left and top right. It had paper loss in the bottom left that affected the background and the printer's name. It had creases, tears, and some paper loss in parts of the borders. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. A restorer did a pretty nice job of recreating the missing bottom left corner and also did some restoration to the other defects. You can clearly see signs of the restoration, but the poster will display well on the new owner's wall. Learn More about condition grades
