Gold and the Girl, the 1925 Edmund Mortimer silent romantic stagecoach robbery cowboy western melodrama ("A thrilling drama of the Golden West"; "Story by John Stone"; Buck is an undercover agent for a mining company that is having its gold shipments robbed; he saves the life of a pretty girl when her horse is frightened by his dog, Pal, and he falls in love with her, but later he discovers that, unknown to her, her uncle and his partner are the robbers!) starring Buck Jones, Bruce Gordon, Claude Payton, Lucien Littlefield, Elinor Fair, Pal the Dog (a pit bull terrier, who was used in many movies starting in 1919 when he was 4, and he lived to 15!), and Carole Lombard (in her second credited role ever, billed as "Carol Lombard"). Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Also note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had creases, tears, and small paper loss scattered down the vertical fold, and a lesser amount on the horizontal folds. It had some tears and paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
