Mankiewicz"; "Titles by Joe Farnham"; about a former sea captain whose wife died during childbirth; he gave the child to his brother, a priest, to raise her, and he is now a brothel owner and a crook, and his daughter does not know that; he has a partner who is much more respectable, and the daughter falls in love with the partner, and that causes a falling out between the two men!) starring Lon Chaney Sr. (as Singapore Joe, the disfigured leader of the gang), Lois Moran, Owen Moore, Henry B. Walthall, Sojin, Rose Langdon, John George, Willie Fung, and Eddie Sturgis. Note that this is a partially "lost" film which means that no surviving complete copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. The card had much light staining in the top right, extending into most of Chaney's credit and part of the title. It also had staining in the bottom right, extending into the bottom of the image. It had two tears in the left of the bottom border, extending into the left and right of the words "Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer". It had some other creases, tears, and pinholes around the edges. Someone, likely many years ago, performed minimalist restoration to this card without backing it. They used small pieces of tape on the back of the tears and performed slight touch up to the front, but otherwise did little restoration. This extremely rare card can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly, a more modern restoration could be performed. Learn More about condition grades
