An Original Piece of Movie Poster Artwork (measures 27" x 28" [69 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

A Bill of Divorcement, the 1932 George Cukor father/daughter family relationship mental illness melodrama ("From the play by Clemence Dane"; about a man who returns home after fifteen years in a mental institution to find that things are not the way they were when he left) starring John Barrymore, Katharine Hepburn (in her very first role, and she was immediately noticed as a major talent!), Billie Burke, David Manners, and Paul Cavanagh
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this piece of original artwork COULD definitely be the original art used to create the six-sheet movie poster for this classic movie. It is clearly quite old and was not created recently, but is it from 1932, and was it created before the poster? We can't say for certain. It clearly was painted onto heavy illustration board, and it looks just like the image that was used for the six-sheet, except that David Manners' name is misspelled as "Nanners". There is no writing or markings on the back that would give any further glues, so please do not bid on this artwork unless you can accept the uncertainty as to whether or not it is the original artwork for the six-sheet poster.

Condition: good. The art has fine scuff marks scattered throughout and a lesser number of scattered stains (see our image). It was once mounted to some sort of heavy brown board, and it was mostly removed (the art is on a fairly heavy illustration board, and there is residue of the brown backing board scattered on the back).
