Bachman, and Leo Sulky. Note that this was originally made as a silent film, but sound effects and a soundtrack were added making this the duo's first sound movie. Also note that one of the music pieces in the film, Funeral March of a Marionette, was also the theme song for Alfred Hitchcock's TV show! Finally note that in 1928 Stan Laurel co-directed "Moonlight and Noses" which had a very similar plot to this movie, and one wonders is Laurel didn't help influence this film's plot! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this set of stills (which is one of six early Laurel and Hardy titles we are currently auctioning in six separate auctions) comes to us from the collection of Johnny Crawford, who first came to fame as the son in the TV series "The Rifleman" and later became a band leader loved movies, and early on he collected many movie stills and more. This set of 8x10 stills was apparently purchased by Mr. Crawford in a collection with other 1920s and early 1930s stills that had been used at a theater called the "BJ Nickolodeon", which stamped "Property of the BJ Nickelodeon" on the back of most of their stills. Early Laurel and Hardy stills from the fist release of the movies are incredibly rare! Note finally that these stills measure 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" [19 x 24 cm], but they do not appear to been trimmed. Condition: very good. The stills each measure 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" and they do not appear trimmed, but it is possible that they were. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Learn More about condition grades
