He started out as an actor and he did not direct until 1940. Some of his movies include: Bicycle Thief, Farewell To Arms (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and Shoeshine. He passed away in 1974 at the age of 73. Important Added Info: Note that this cool magazine was published in 1934, and De Sica did not begin directing until 1940, and yet he was famous enough as an actor to warrant his own magazine! Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!).
