An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Deluxe 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Rex Lease was an actor from the 1920s to the 1950s. Some of his movies include: East Money, Heroes of the Night, The Sign of the Wolf, Chinatown After Dark, A Chump at Oxford, and Spoilers of the Plains. He passed away in 1966 at the age of 62. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Rex Lease! The still has an unusual origin. A woman wrote to Rex Lease asking for a signed photograph from Mr. Lease. His secretary replied and said that she could not send a personally signed photo because he was out of town for three weeks. She added that he would be back and she would "give him your letter and I am sure he would be delighted to send you his picture with his personal autograph". He did follow up on that promise, because the woman who received the letter and the autographed deluxe still saved both of them, and that is what we are auctioning here: a deluxe signed still from Rex Lease and a letter from his secretary, as described above. This means it is a virtual certainty that Mr. Lease personally signed the photo, because if his secretary would have signed for him, she surely would have simply done so! Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Finally, note that this auction also includes the printed envelope this item originally came with! Condition: good. The still has discolored around the edges, but it does not affect Mr. Lease's face or his inscription. The envelope that the letter was mailed in is glued to the back of the still, and there are remnants of an album page glued to the back of the still as well (see our images).
